At Tempo Physical Therapy, we help you move more easily, more skillfully, and more often so you can thrive in the rest of your life and enjoy lifelong optimal health.

We address pain and injury with evidence-based, personalized therapy so you can return to and excel in loved activities, including dance and running. With longer session times, and the undivided attention of a doctor of physical therapy, every minute is centered on you and your unique needs.

We meet you where you are. Skip the transit time and waiting rooms and see a physical therapist in your home, office, or online. We’ll work together where your daily routines and challenges happen so our services are highly tailored to fit your life where you live it.

You are the expert of your own body, symptoms, and life. We’ll distill the best available research along with our experience into meaningful guidance, but it is always your choice in how to proceed and what goals to pursue.

We are pro-movement and pro-activity. We won’t tell you to give up on doing the things that you love. Sometimes you just need to make some adjustments, and those adjustments may be temporary. Together, we’ll find the right tempo for your rehab or training plan that will help you reach your goals.

Dr. Andrea Anderson, PT, DPT

Hello! I’m Andrea Anderson, owner of Tempo Physical Therapy. For more than twenty years, I’ve been helping people improve their movement health, recover physical function, and thrive in the activities that are important to them.

Like many people, I have both family and personal experience with persistent pain, and I have a direct and personal understanding of its relationship with overall health, well-being, and the pursuit of a fulfilling life. I’ve also had a lifelong fascination with movement, sparked initially by my love for dance, and these intersecting interests led me to explore and practice in the fields of massage and bodywork, then Pilates instruction, and ultimately to my current roles as a physical therapist and health coach.

My perspective on movement, health, and pain have significantly evolved over time, driven by the dynamic advancements in scientific research concerning pain. I continually aim to integrate this growing knowledge base, along with the latest research on all facets of rehabilitation and behavior change, into my practice. My aim is to act as a guide for people who want to learn how to live comfortably and fully in their bodies.

My Education and Training

I hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from the joint program at the University of California, San Francisco and San Francisco State University. My specialized training encompasses pain neuroscience, the treatment of running injuries and pelvic floor dysfunction, dance medicine, and several forms of manual therapy.

In addition, I am a Wellcoaches-certified Health and Well-being Coach, a nationally certified Pilates instructor, and have comprehensive bodywork training in techniques such as deep tissue, shiatsu, and Insight Bodywork. My educational background also includes a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography.
